Dr. Howard Holderness, Jr. founder of the North
Carolina. Plastic Surgery Center, P.A., received his undergraduate
and medical degrees at the University
of North Carolina a Chapel Hill. He completed an internship and
residence in General Surgery and Plastic Surgery at Stanford
University in California.
Following completion of his training, Dr. Holderness practiced near
Lake Tahoe in Truckee, California. While he was there, he was elected to the Board of the
Tahoe Forest Hospital and served as President of the
Placer-Nevada Medical Society.
A native of Greensboro, Dr. Holderness returned to North Carolina in 1980 and opened
North Carolina Plastic Surgery Center. He has been in private practice for 28 years.
Dr. Holderness's interests cover a range of cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. His
practice consists of cosmetic surgery, including reconstruction,
Obagi skin care, blue peels and laser treatments of various skin conditions.
Dr. Holderness has served as President of the
North Carolina Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, President of the
North Carolina Chapter, American College of Surgeons and has recently been elected to a
second term to serve on the Board of Governors of the
American College of Surgeons as a Governor-at-large from North Carolina.
Dr. Holderness is Board Certified by the
American Board of Surgery and the
American Board of Plastic Surgery.
He is an active member of the
American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the
American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the
Southeastern Society of Plastic & Reconstructive Surgeons, and is a Fellow of the
American College of Surgeons.
